Maintenance Mechanic Technician I
Location: Livermore, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
A well-known supplement manufacturer in the Tri-Valley area is seeking a Maintenance & Facilities Technician I to support production and facility operations. This is a hands-on role for an experienced maintenance professional in a manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
Supports all production and facility equipment during normal operations, performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots equipment issues, and helps maintain the facility in top operating condition.
Key Responsibilities

Follow all personal safety, food safety, and quality standards

Review work schedules, inspect equipment, gather supplies, and prioritize tasks

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on production and facility equipment

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical plans

Collaborate with other departments to meet operational goals

Provide input on work orders, corrective actions, and process improvements

Follow procedures for work requests and ordering parts and supplies

Accurately complete work orders, requisitions, and required documentation

Work independently in the absence of maintenance leadership

Maintain proper spare parts inventory levels

Overtime or weekend work may be required as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
General
-
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
-
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office

Knowledge of lubricants, greases, and oils used in industrial equipment
Mechanical
-
Inspect and maintain building systems (plumbing, roofs, drains, exhaust fans, doors, and grounds)

Perform minor repairs including painting, drywall, and basic electrical work
-
Maintain conveyors and power transmission equipment (bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, motors, pumps)

Proper and safe use of hand tools

Lubricate industrial machinery
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-
2-year college degree or technical degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
-
Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
Physical Requirements

Ability to work in hot and cold environments
-
Exposure to slippery floors and moving machinery
-
Ability to perform lockout/tagout procedures
-
Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet

Ability to work around allergens, airborne powders, and industrial equipment
